Description

The module iX-SH16-8i provides eight individually isolated analogue inputs with 16 bits resolution and a sampling rate of up to 1 Msps for an input voltage range of ±10 V. This can be set by a programmable preamplifier per channel with amplification factors from 1 to 16. Furthermore, each channel provides a programmable anti aliasing filter. The sampling frequency can be adjusted from 8 Msps for one channel and 1 Msps with eight channels. In addition, the iX-SH16-8i offers two digital inputs, which are also galvanically isolated. They can be used e.g. as start trigger or as sampling trigger. Each channel provides an isolated supply for an external sensor of 5 V.

The iX-SH16-8i also is equipped with an on-board temperature measurement for automatic calibration procedures.
Various modes of operation can be selected by the software, e.g., single channel, multi channel and FIFO mode. In the FIFO mode, the data is stored in the on board RAM (FIFO) and read out later as data block by DMA (direct memory access). The FIFO has a size of about 25,000 values. In the FPGA of the module, complete measurement sequences can be stored. The operating temperature ranges from -40... 85 °C. The 3.3 V supply voltage is delivered from the X-Bus® of the carrier board.
